A purple facet-cut & carved portrait cameo ring. The carved centre, believed to be from an earlier piece, has been reset into the later, unusual, heavy ring setting. The ring depicts a three-dimensional naked male and female figure embracing the shoulders and mount. Unhallmarked, assessed variously as 16- 17ct gold. Ring size I 1/2. Weight 25 grams.
